Horse Park: We made it. We by-passed the Talladega Speedway (for a later date) and trekked over to the Mississippi Horse Park! Why the Horse Park? Generally, they have horse shows and dog shows. Due to the current restrictions, their events have been curtailed. Oh well, Spike. Better luck getting to a dog show, next year!!

Can’t Leave Georgia without them: We didn’t leave Georgia without some Southern Hospitality…We were gifted with Georgia Soft-boiled salted peanuts (check the link to create your own boiled peanuts–remember to have adult supervision)!

Invaders: Get your calculator out!! Bugs, bugs, and more bugs! Tons of bugs flew into our window shield and grill…Ugh!! Sorry buggies. But look at these statistics of how many bugs die per year due to impacting an automobile (math: see if you can calculate how many bugs die per day in the US alone based on the article link). So, who are the invaders? The automobiles or the bugs? Sadly, according to a February 2020 article in WIRED magazine, we are reducing the number of insects with each journey through time and space (learn about the insect apocalypse). Any innovative suggestions to protect the buggies?

This summer, the Mike and Spike, Spike and Mike roadshow will cross America and connect with people and places that make this country distinctly American. 
Horses will be the animal theme that draw us to the locations of states across America as they were historically the lead animal for transport…(Sure Spike, we won’t forget to visit dogs and create a signature print!). As we travel, the horse theme will transition to horsepower! Horsepower, of course, is now our primary means of seeing our country.
The subsequent theme is sand--yes, sand. Why sand? We will travel from “sea to shining sea” and collect sand from each shore; from the shores of the Assateague Island to the Coronado Islands, and the sand dunes in between. And, actually, these locations used to be called “seas.”
