Detour #1 – Honoring Firefighters!
It is September 11th and fires are burning throughout our nation. As such, we are posting one of our first detours to Ocean City, MD. There, we saw the Firefighters memorial…but, what about the horses?
Well, prior to going to the Assateague Islands, we were planning on visiting the Naval Academy Equestrian Team. However, we were unable to catch up with their horses even with the diligent work of a Naval Academy Public Relations representative! All we could ask is, “Where, oh where have the horses gone?”
Nevertheless, we made our way to Ocean City and the amazing boardwalk. At that time, Spikey enjoyed a 1AM stroll along the beach front. To the background of crashing waves, we managed to nab the following photos. One of the most impressive attractions was the statue tribute to our nation’s, often, unsung heroes, our firefighters!
